Can you submit more than one film?
Yes. But you must fill out a separate submission form and separate fee for each submission.
Can you submit a previously submitted film?
Yes. As long as the film meets the criteria you may re-submit.
Do we have to include bios for the film?
Yes. All areas of the submission form MUST be completed or project will not be considered.
My film works in more than one genre. How do I categorize it?
Pick one.
What makes it a short film?
For this competition your film must be 20 minutes or less to be considered and that includes opening and closing credits.
I was rejected last year… can I still submit the same film again?
Yes. As long as the film meets the criteria you may re-submit.
Will previous screenings disqualify my film?
No.
How old can my film be in order to be considered?
You may submit no matter how old your work is.
Can I submit a rough cut?
No. Only complete/finished projects will be considered.
Can I submit my film with a temp music track?
No. Only complete/finished projects will be considered.
My film has aired on television… can it still be considered?
Yes.
Can I upload my film instead of sending a dvd?
Yes.
What should I include with my submission?
Your film, completed submission form signed and the applicable fee.
What happens if you cannot get my dvd to play?
We will contact you and request that you send a working copy. As long as we receive a working copy before deadline your project will be considered.
How many films can I submit?
You may submit as many as you like. Each film has to have its own fully completed submission form and separate fee.
When will I find out if my film has been selected?
You will be notified by e-mail if you are selected around August 20, 2011.
Is there a screenplay competition?
Not at this time. Check back with the website periodically for upcoming events and competitions.
What are the deadlines and fees?
Early submission deadline is June 20th through July 22nd. Early submission fee is $25. Late submission is from July 23rd through August 12th. Late submission fee is $40.
What if my submission arrives after the deadline for which I have registered? If you register for early submission and it arrives within the late submission dates we will contact you and request that you add the money required to meet the fee for that time period. If you submit beyond the late registration your project will not be considered. NO FEES will be refunded.
Help filling out festival forms:
Title: Title of the film submitted.
Length: Length in minutes.
Genre: Genre of the film submitted.
Director: Person who directed the film submitted.
Writer/s: Person or persons who wrote the screenplay for the film submitted.
Starring: Lead and key cast members of the film submitted.
Synopsis: A brief synopsis between 75 to 150 words describing the film submitted.
Name: Name of the contact person directly connected to this film.
Email: For the contact person previously stated.
Company: Name of your production company.
Website: Site created for your production company or where your other works are displayed if you have one.
Bios: Mini-bio/s on the director and writer and possibly key actors in the film being submitted.
